You make it sound like Apple have never stolen anything.

Bookmarked this ages whilst 'debating' with a mate who also thought the sun shined out of Jobs backside and sums up a few features Apple nabbed from Microsoft/Windows - What Apple Stole from Microsoft.
On top of that you also have the ideas and apps Apple have nabbed from the jailbreak community for iOS like WiFi Sync, custom wallpapers, video output, folders, WiFi hotspots etc
Not sure why this is even being questioned as all companies nab ideas and a lot of them will come out with rehashes and market them as their own.

Agree with you about Vista; they rushed it out far too quickly and it was a complete turd of an OS and almost as bad as ME.

I never had a problem with Vista tbh, people were running it on underspecced hardware.

To be fair, most of the hardware inside Macs is the cheapest stuff you can get. Only place they use quality hardware is CPU and shell.
With all other parts they go for the cheapest manufacturer, just like every other company.
That said, I'm not entirely sure you get any better quality from a PC in the same price range.
Sure, for the price of an i5 MBP you can get a plastic Acer with an i7, but is there actually any competitors who offer same or better specs, design and materials than Apple for the price?
Honest question, btw!
Cheapest 15" MBP:
2.0GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
500GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6490M with 256MB GDDR5
Built-in battery (7 hours)
£ 1,549.00
What luxury Windows machines are available in that price range?

BTW! Not trying to prove Mac is better, just trying to figure out if not the hardware and price is quite similar...

You could get an equally specced Dell for that.

macs are expensive, but, if you aren't worried about the cost or gaming, then get a mac.

Although, if you wanna game then you can install XP/Vista/7 as a partition and play them on that.
I use XP for VagCom on my MBP

Granted laptops they are not quite to bad. Its the desktops where they are a fair premium.
Laptops - Lenovos produce similar laptops money/price wise (whether you like the Thinkpad styling is very yey/ney)
A major advantage of the Mac laptops is thier resale value which is far far greater than any PC.

Agreed.
In a way this is what pleases me about my iPhone - in that in 22 months time I can sell it for a good price, whereas other phones I've had I've only got fuck all for them secondhand.
Even the old iPhone 3G still fetch good money on eBay I've noticed.
