Are they cheaper anymore or is it all about the same as the high street now? I'm specifically talking iPads...

Well it is 20% off.
Where are you going? Might be even cheaper at destination.

Is it really 20% off? How would that work?
If that's the case I could just get a £10 flight to anywhere every time I wanted to buy some new electronics.

I know the drink isn't any cheaper but I don't normally go into Dixon's.
Is duty free not only if you go outside the EU or something?

I'm not sure. I remember looking at aftershaves and it was all about the same price as Boots and stuff. I think Duty Free bargains are in the past now.

cheapest place in the world right now for ipads is the USA but you need to box break it before you get home or you may have to pay duty.

Or send the empty box home via air mail and take the iPad with you on the plane

So is it dependant on where you fly to as to whether you pay VAT? Or where you actually buy the goods?

In my experience, everything is more expensive in an airport.
I know that never used to be the case but it seems to be nowadays.

I find newspapers and magazines to be similarly priced to the high street.

It will be where your flying to hence why they ask for your boarding pass iirc

You wont pay the VAT but then its likely that the item will be at rrp so may not save a great deal
