its a rover 25 ( I Know!) Its done 70k and its 2000 reg, He only wants £500 is there anything i should look out for?

Check if there's Any creamy yellowish shit on the underside bit of oil cap when you undo it.

probably cost the price of the car to fix in all honesty. Check coolant levels regularly if you do get it.

£500 on a 2000 reg. My neighbour bought a 53 reg last week for £700 and it has paperwork for the uprated heat gasket.


HG is a common failure, if there's no paperwork for the upgraded kit, i wouldn't bother. There's enough 25s about for that price.

New head gasket, new head bolts as thats the main cause of H/G failures on them

head gasket - around £90 in parts and 2hours to change it very very easy engine to work on

its got a year MOT but i stil check for HG, Tax runs out end of the month...
