I have a laptop which i use for work from home, i want to set it up like a PC from home with dual screens, keyboard and mouse etc.. with the laptop just hidden away and connected to. Will i be able to have dual screens from this or do i need something to split the?

I don't think I've ever come across a laptop that'll output to 2 external displays indipendantly.

You won't be able to do it natively from the laptop, will need something like a Matrox DualHead (http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/) which are around £130 or so.

Is it a business laptop?

If it was a latitude for instance just get a dock, tidier and will do what you want.

Essentially it's just a splitter, so the laptop 'thinks' it's connected to a single monitor. Good bits of kit the few times I've used them although you're laptops max resolution on the output determines what resolution you can run on the monitors and the monitors have to run the same resolution and refresh rate, so you can't mix 'n' match like a dualhead graphics card.

Alternatively you can by ExpressCard PCIe graphics cards if your laptop supports it; aren't cheap from what i remember.

Just buy a MacBook Pro and two Thunderbolt cinema displays - you can go dual screen using that setup
