c20xe wont rev over 4 thou, if i have the jump leads on of my other car it will rev out but as soon as i take them off it wont go over 4 and spits loads of flames out the back any ideas ?

i will try one of my mates in the morning but surely it would do that even when ive got the jump leads on from my other car

try alternator m8 mine did the same thing wen mine went and it made my alarm start to work which hasnt bin wired uop for 2 year!!

crank sensor related aswell when engine goes into limp mode and wont rev past 4k my old astra gsi did this and that was the cause

My throttle position sensor made it do this, it was a coil pack type when my car is a dizzy engine. so either way it make full load contact not work.

fixed now i had swopped altonaters still no joy then put my original one back on and it worked god knows
