don't use app killers on Android. There was a good article about them basically saying that the android OS doesn't work in the same way as windows for example.
I found battery issues could be sorted by turning off data when not using it, making the screen dim quicker, not use live wall papers and making sure gps/Bluetooth are only on when I need them

You want to root your phone, and install an open source Rom. Rooting is a 10min job on the sensation. You will lose all sense features though.

You just want to turn off GPS, Wifi and Bluetooth if/when you don't use them.
I get a day easy out of my Desire S.
You can uninstall apps btw.

I have had to use the one YOU recommended me a couple of times when there has been loads open, slowing the phone down, or if Opera is playing up or something Other than that I don't generally use it as it works better without killing stuff, as you said.

You massive bumder dave, I'll slap you in the nostril
Yes, I use one to close apps if they are being stupid e.g. facebook not loading or if opera crashes, however I would never suggest to leave one on all the time or get into a habit of closing apps. Like I say, I open mine, select the app killer itself and the app being stupid and hit kill. Done.
Now, that slap

Root it and delete the actual programs from the program files.
I did it with the 'Vlingo' voice shite as i kept pressing home button twice and got pissed with it popping up.
'Say what you would like to do' every two mins. Cunt.,

You can stop them from auto-killing i.e. running in background. And yeah 2.3.5 has, but is only used for the purpose I described above davey boy. Plus the slap is for Skater fyi
