Dom, that doesn't do timed dimming though.

Plus you have to carry a separate remote round with you. Reminds me of my old mans house where hes got aldi things you put between the socket and the plug on all his lamps and a massive remote to switch them all on and off from his seat. He thinks hes proper cool.

Great idea. Wasnt convinced at the start of the video but in a commercial enviroment they would be awesome.

The app needs to be more powerfull though, as there are so many more things that caould be done with them

Do a Google, can pick up dimming RGB led bulbs for about £15. I'm still not convinced a mobile app is worth 3/4 times the price though.

Gary - Personally i'd be looking at commercial products rather than this if i needed to do 'mass' lighting, would probably work out cheaper too.

As soon as you've got it connected to a network that has internet connectivity you can basically do anything you want.

The key word here is 'timed'. I want to have a light I can schedule to start getting brighter from turned off to full power in a period of 30 minutes and starting at a set time.

I could do that for less than £40, probably from my phone but you are correct, it doesn't do that as standard.

Can get timed dimmer sockets though - http://buyhomeeasy.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=45&osCsid=7db03f3b7a3cec1383a70b8d73dce4b5 (suspect you can get it cheaper than that as well).

Edit - am curious to know if that Kickstart product is app/phone dependable; decent if it isn't, pretty cacky otherwise.

What do you mean - American, or typical EU, or the 'figure of 8'?
