Is your box connected to your phone line? If so, check through the settings that the connection is OK.
And if all else fails, do the turning it off/back on after 60 seconds trick.

If you've got a Samsung box then theres another 2/3 weeks to wait whilst they finish the rollout. All the rest should have it by now - if not - do a manual update.
Switch the box off at the mains.
Hold down the backup button on the box and switch power back on - continue holding the backup button until the 4 LED's on front of the box come on and the "Updating System Software" message comes on-screen and remove your finger from the backup button, do not disturb for 10 or so minutes until the message disappears and the box reboots.

Does it need to be connected to the phone line for the manual update? We've had it on one of our boxes for ages but not the other
Edit: Just checked and the box that doesn't have it is an Amstrad.

They are approved in batches, if your box isn't approved yet there's no way to force the update.

It's an over the air update, nothing to do with Ethernet /phone lines.
As Richie said, use the backup button on the box.
