Wanting to replace my living room computer and project with 1080 stuff.

Not really fussed about a media OS, probably just throw XP on it and open the files via explorer as I currently do.

Want full motion 1920 x 1080 videos, so need something that will do that, in a small form factor case.

Was hoping something like this would do the trick, perhaps a bit quicker but nothing i3/i5 etc. as they're getting on a bit money-wise.

Also need recommendations on a projector if anyone has any. Again, not top dollar but able to run at that res. natively.

Have a look into AMD APU processors. They have reasonably good graphics built in. You can get them pretty cheap too. I think my whole HTPC came in at less than £200 plus hard drives. Plus it's powerful enough to run XBMC nicely.

Or get an AMD HD 6450 graphics card to throw in with some cheap hardware.

It depends on the codec and whether you want to be doing online streaming too.

i.e. I have a revo which is a puny atom but it has onboard acceleration for h264 which means it will play a top bip-rate blueray without breaking sweat BUT try and watch an online flash based feed and it really struggles maxing out the CPU.

To be fair it is virtually only the online flash stuff the atom stuggles with so the key is finding something with onboard media decoding rather than raw CPu power

Wouldn't trust a 745 to output full HD without an issue, look at the 755's and the 760's

Yeah I should think that would be fine? They both come in that USFF factor and look exactly the same as the 745's. Remember they have a power brick as well though.
