Some sort of outage again, been at least a couple over past week or so.

Three with 4G for just about the same price as gg is becoming more tempting.

does giff gaff go offline when o2 stays online or does o2 go as well?

Depends which part of the system has failed, can both go down together, or go down individually.

It's been a while since it's happened tbh but the 4G allure of three might be enough to sway me. I can't see gg keeping the prices the same for 4G.

It was down for me last Friday afternoon/evening. Data still worked, just wouldn't call or SMS. First time I've had a problem with them since I switched though and whilst it was a bit annoying there are enough other ways to get in touch with people so it wasn't a huge inconvenience.

3's tariffs are very tempting but O2 is the only network that I'm certain gets signal at home.

This a complete network outage or just intermittent?

Sent a load of texts last night without issue and similar today + calls Tbf, last issue i had (that i noticed/had affect) with GG was around 12 months ago when the top-up part of the site was borked; was sorted within an hour or so though so it didn't put me out too much.

I noticed because we tried to make a couple of calls between about 5 and 8 and it wouldn't dial. Data was working throughout.

However cheap they are, if they had more than one outage in the space of a few months I would seriously consider leaving.

James - Most networks have intermittent issues, it's just luck of the draw.

I seen that from the forums, the communication is terrible from them, which is a bigger issue than the outages.

Internet has been fine, just calls and texts for me.

See i think it's pretty decent; i can't think of any other network that gives you a running commentary on the issue and the fixes/solutions - perfect example is the O2 status page, just gives you a weak arse reason and excuse, no actual information there.

Issue i have with it is how they go about displaying it all, ie - it's all buried within a forum. The information is there but it's just a bit of a ballache to get to and read.
Personally i'd like them to seem them have a decent status page, similar to what you'd find on a Hosting provider (TSOHost for example), as it'd make things a lot easier rather than having to trawl through a forum.

The forum is the only form of contact though (tickets useless when something big going on) so although they do have some more updates, they aren't of much use and buried in a forum as you've mentioned. I know where you are coming from though.

I switched to a 3 sim only deal around a year ago and it has been absolutely perfect.
