I've never been a fan of plasma. The original size/heat/power consumption for a perceived benefit in some situations wasn't enough.

A good LCD has always been my preference and where I've put my money.

It's only Panasonic, but as they're (one of) the market leader(s), I'd say it's indicative of a trend.
Who's left? Samsung still do plasma's, but they've cut out a lot of models and sizes.
Then there's LG, who's the same.

I'm bothered, because in 2-4 years when I'm looking to buy a 4K display, there's likely not going to be a lot, if any, plasma TV's to choose from.
