Just get a few local builders round to quote, ask questions so you get someone who knows what they are doing, not some Herbert with a trowel who can't get proper building jobs.
It's not that hard to do and it's actually pretty enjoyable once you get into it, access is the biggest issue really as you aren't meant to work off ladders. Also avoid strap pointing, especially if you have an old stone house, it can cause big problems.
