Can anyone shed some light on how I can do this..
I need to use a barcode scanner to log tools in and out, and to a job number.
So I want to scan a job number barcode, scan the tool barcode, and it logs as being on that job. Then scan it again and it will take it off that job.
How can I do this??

What would be involved in making it work, is it a big task?

How does your barcode scanner work? Does it automatically type into whatever text box / application you have in focus at the time, or does it go into the clipboard so you can paste it in or what?
Some sample Job IDs / tool IDs would be handy.
It doesn't sound like a difficult job.

Most barcode scanners are just text input so you would click into the excel cell and then scan the barcode and to will input the code straight in.
