Just looking for a little guide to decent places I can look for small wall mounted surround speakers. My current set are floor standing ones and I am changing as the house doesn't have room for floor ones plus it looks smarter with little wall mounted. I'm looking to buy an amp from Richer Sounds but their speaker choice isn't amazing nor are they very powerful, even ones on Curry's website are more powerful according to the technical spec. So just wondering where is a decent place to look/buy from?
Not looking to spend loads as decorating whole living room plus buying an amp, wasn't expecting to need speakers and I need a sub too as my current one is passive but all modern amps seem to need active subs. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

If by 'more powerful' you mean higher wattage, then that means next to nothing in home cinema setups really.
Have a look into the Cambridge Audio Minx speakers, I sampled some at Richer Sounds and they are phenomenally good for their size.

Oh really? How comes? I mean I couldn't imagine they're being much power in such small speakers but on the Curry's website they advertise speakers at 400W whereas on Richer Sounds they were barely 100 most of them, so I thought it must come into play somehow. (I will admit I am a noob at all this stuff)
Cheers I'll have a look. Would be nice just to get everything from Richer Sounds and pick it up from the Maidstone store.

Minx family is definitely a good option.
As are Boston Acoustics XS and Wharfedale Diamond.
Q-Acoustics 2020i might be worth looking at, if you don't require tiny speakers.
And yeah, ignore wattage. Your AVR will not be outputting 400w per channel anyway.

depends on budget
Q Acoustics 7000 range for small speakers
Q Acouctics 2000i if you can get away with book self speakers
The Boston ones and Cambridge ones are very good for the cost

Are you plumbing the wiring into the walls and plastering?
If so then I'd advise doing it right mate. You'll not regret it. I've had Bose 5.1 Acoustimass-6 in my living room for years now and its fantastic. Mines all plumbed into the walls with no wires on show. All running off an Onkyo Amp.
You can get some cracking deals on this setup these days.

Yeah wires all chased into the wall and plastered in. Just need the AV gear now lol.
Definetly seems to be some good package deals around. Was going to go to Richer sounds yesterday but I'm on a deadline to get skirting down before carpet gets laid on Friday so it will have to wait

Not surprisingly, that Bose kit looks overpriced. Definitely other kits I'd be looking at in that price range.

Well it works out around £450/500 for the Bose and they aren't worth that, not for the sound quality. Better off with Boston's or Cambridge Audio Minx as mentioned.
The NR535 is decent though but i'd be inclined to look at the Denon 2100 which isn't much more and has a load more features.

Monitor Audio MASS is in that price range too. Supposed to be great, though I've never seen them in stores around here.

Well... In all honesty, I did my homework. I Sampled the Boston's / Cambridge Audio / KEF amongst others at my local home audio shop and I beg to differ.
The Bose outright was the better quality sounding speaker in that size and category with the right amp hence me buying them for my application.
I suppose everyone has their own preference for room size etc.
Personally I'm over the moon with how they perform.
