tap? I think it's gotta be tappets? is there n e thing i can do to quiten them down?
ive tried Wynns tappet cleaner with no joy, dunno what else to try really part from an oil change.
would a thicker oil help, im using GTX magnetic which was really thin, dunno if that would make them tap louder?
When i drive it harder it taps louder, that normal?
It's only a recent thing, come to think about it, it really only started to get noticable when i put the Magnetic oil in, but i was assured the oil was ok for the car.
It's a 1.4 16v BTW

u checked ur oil level?? maybe u got a leak or the cars burning oil,meanig the level is low, hence the tapping??

nah i got me bro to follow me while i gave me car a cane and there's nothing at all outa the zorst.
oil level is perfect, chack every week and hasn't brunt n e oil at all

cars done 86 000 miles so it might be warn tappets?

smaller vauxhall engines tend to have a very 'tappety' sound to them anyway, wouldnt have thought there wud be anythin wrong

My 1.2 16v taps a little through certain rev ranges when under stress, like going up a hill or accelerating.
I assumed it was a characteristic of this engine as it causes no problems.

as for tapping u havent heard anything till u hear a 2lt 16v start cold in the morn

my 1.2 just hit 83000 and just started to get a tapping/rattling noise from the front of the car, only when i'm in high rev though. being looking for where its comming from but can't seem to find anything.

took mine to vauxhall, possibly Hydraulic Lifters, cause i know i have an oil leak, when paid, might try n get it sorted, has got 127,000 ish on the clock though 
Fink i need a new engine

my c20xe sounds really tappety first thing in a morning, but goes after about a mile. sounds as though its got no oil in it
