if you warm the car up to operating temp first and give it careful love and attention and change the oil and filter regularly.... it should be fine... maybe better than a granny who only revs to 3,000rpm.
MAKE SURE IT'S WARMED UP THOUGH

why do u think that, cars are made for this as long as the oil is protecting (hot), and as long as the engine is in good order in the first place, i rev mine all the time to 3k RPM, most of the time to 4k RPM and occasionally to 5kRPM and i have never redlined it.

I let the car warm up then blast it 20 miles to work every day so i aint really suprised its happened, you get to 5000rpm and smoke apperars out the back!!!!. Also to be fair the engines just about to tick over 100'000, but i change the oil like all the time and the filters it gets a proper good service, buying the re-built engine off some one, it cost him £1400 to have done but a lifter went and it needs repairing so i am having it for £500 just swap my cams over and get new lifters. This blokes getting rid due to a 2.0 conversion
