Look in your handbook, as it depends which 1.2 it is. think my peak torque is at 2,600 rpm, and peak power at 4,500rpm.

2,600 sounds more diesel power range,

anyone know what a 1.2 8v revs at doing 50 mph. just wnna know if my rev counter is working properly. i believe torque on these engines is good at low revs

limiter in 3rd - 75mph (6.500)
limiter in 2nd - 50mph (6.500)
3,000 @ 60mph in 5th
so about 2650 @ 50
yeh its low but i wanna no the best time too change gear

12NZ, C12NZ idle at 840-1000rpm
X12SZ idle at 820-980rpm
Max power is 45BHP
max power on 12NZ and C12NZ is at 5000rpm
Max power on X12SZ is at 4600rpm
Maximum torque for all 3 engines is at 2800rpm.

This does not apply to the F10 5 speed gearbox, since the 5th gear is an overdrive gear. F10 was originally a 4 speed box from Corsa Merit's and Nova's.
2k RPM @ 50mph in 5th is probably about right, since top speed in 1.2 engine is attained in 4th gear.

it will up at about 2500, but at around 300 - 3200 it will feel "on cam" so to speak

mine just feels slow all the time, lol. If im trying to drive it fast (FAST, lol. I meant for the car) i keep it in every gear aslong as i can. I tried changing up at lik 4500rpm to c if short shifting was quicker but in my opinion it isnt!!

Changing at 5k RPM is your best move, since the engine cannot create more power after this point.

You got to take it past peak power, so that when you change gear, the revs drop to as near peak power as possible..
If you just go to peak power, then when you change gear you will be right out of the 'power'.
