i did the td tuning, and my car was no way near as fast as my bro kris td's. i thought something was buggered in the engine as i put a few posts up saying this. anyway i got offered a ramair induction kit for a tenner so i thought why not ill just get more whistle but no increase in power coz the drilled airbox. but infact just by changing the drilled airbox to a cone filter it somehow makes my car sh*t hot quick, it now boosts 1 bar no trouble!

Mine responded very well to the induction kit. I doubt there is much of a power increase, but engines revs a hell of a lot more freely, and power/torque curve is now much smoother!

Very nice burble 2-3k now

Ditch - i dont think thats the case really - coz after a run, my engine bay is just as hot as any petrol car's would be. Its got more to do with how the Turbo breathes etc

i dunno matty, mine never gets above 90 degree, whereas mates clio always goes high than that.
yeah the isuzu lump likes induction kits, esspecially if you bolt em on the turbo, which my bro cant do cos the abs pump is in the way

fair douz - the temp readin on mine never ever goes about 80, but i think the ambient temp under the bonnet wud be almost the same as a petrol car. If not, higher, coz the intercooler dissapates one hell of alot of heat, especially when running higher boost etc

Nevertheless. I've got some massive 70mm alu cold air tubing running to mine just to be on the safe side!

Is IC top mounted on the 1.5TD Kris? I cant remember the pics of urs!

so you'd bolt a cone filter right next to a hot turbo and a radiator

matty, the 1.5 td doesnt have an intercooler,
in reguards to the air filter, its about 45 cm from the turbo, it sits above the wheel arch liner and is shielded from heat by the battery and diesel filter. it takes cold air that comes up the arch liner.
