Qucik question. On cigarette adapters, is the live wire connected to the end and the earth connected to the metal that sticks out on the side or the other way? I need to cut the live to put a switch in.

if you have a volt meter it will be alot easier to find which one is the live ,just find an earth ( the door catch on the pillar is usually a good one).

I'd imagine the live is the wire connected to the end/point of the attachment.

im not 100% sure , i know i run my dvd off the cig lighter but cant remember which wire it was,. useless aint i lol

lol, i'm gonna go for it anyway!! I'll stick an inline fuse in and try it, if i get it wrong i'll only get a blown fuse!
