standard vaux stuff is best, unless you have other serious engine modifications you will see no gains from having decent plugs etc.

u'd be waisting your money there
the only way to increase the BHP from this engine is to tie about 10 horses to the front of your car

i no it wont increase it that much but i will be nicer to drive and i will be doin all the work myself so it will only cost me about £270 anyway for the cam kit.
Also i dont want a bigger engine as i want to keep the insurance to a min.

waste of £270 fella, i seriously doubt you will notice any power gains if there are any.
what kind of cams are there for a 1.2 8valve anyway

there are kent cams and piper cams. but u use the cams for the nova 1.2-1.4 as they are the same. also they increase bhp by 10 and more if u have chip and other mods.
i need to get a new cam belt anyway so i might as will do the cam and it has now got 130000 miles on the clock and even more when i change it.

i know u said about ure insurance and all but a 1.4 16v who prolly cost ya about £250 off the right person and that would barely affect your premium
massive difference to the 1.2 i would think as the 1.2 has to be the most slugish engine ever made.

^ was thinking that too
its like double the power going from a 1.2 8v to a 1.4 16v

My insurance is £1065 FC and i can do any mods i like as long as i dont put a bigger engine in and that with being 18 and 1 years no claim.
And no a peco will not but it up by 10 more like 2 if u are lucky, so dont think that i am stupied.
