right, gonna look at a 1.5 d 3door 2morro mornin av yas got any ideas wot i should be looking for apart from the obvious rusty bits ?

dont bother with the d, go for the td, its much better, it does more mpg, you can tune it up too 100 bhp as i have prooved for 15 quid and its still mega cheap on the insurance.
other than that starting from cold can be difficult, ask to see if the valve clearence has been adjusted, if it hasnt it will need to be done. other than that i cant think of anything.
oh check the b pillers for cracks near the lacth for the front doors.

would be alot cheaper to get a td in the first place. like kris said you can tune them up to 100bhp for 15quid. ask adam off here, he turbo'd a 1.5d.

adam turbod a 1.5 d, with the same mods his gave 78 bhp mine gave 99 bhp.
its a pain in the arse doing it essecially the fuel pump. just buy a td, they are cheap anyway.

only problem is you might not find them in a 3 door when u r lookin
thinkin about it there was a 3door TD advertised near me the other day. check out the for sale section of www.cruisewales.com
