is it a hard job of removing the engine, gearbox, ecu, loom and transponder chip to put them in a 1.4 16v. how long would it take?
can u not use the gearbox from the 1.4?
id be grateful for any help and advice u can give.

The gearboxes are probably the same, although if you get one with your engine its easier to fit the new one...
If it has the immobiliser with the transponder it will be the x16xe.
It shouldn't be a hard job, fairly simple really, if its a similar year to your 1.4 16v then you might be able to use the same loom, just change the engine, ecu and key (maybe the alarm 'box' if there is one).

It will make as much of a difference as fitting something like a mantzel powerbox, but will leave much more scope for future mods. 20% more power cant be knocked....

The wiring is easy then, the new loom should just plug to the cars loom via a 3x3 formation 9 pin plug by the ecu.

actyually the only difference between the c16xe and x16xe is the manifold and compression. c16xe plastic manifold x16xe metal. difference between x16xe and the x14xe is the piston displacement. i work for vaux and on parts catalog only difference is that. same engine different displacement. difference in performance not enough to justify swop.
