what are they, what do they do, how much do they cost to replace??
just failed my MOT cos 'apparently' both sides are leaking grease

they are a rubber 'boot' which hold the grease in the CV joint and also prevent water and dirt from getting into the CV joint.
They only cost about a fiver each but you need to disconnect the driveshafts to fit them.

they may just need new cable tyes putting on them mate.get someone to have a look and if that's the case will cost you about 30p for bits and 5 mins to fix

i've just been and had a look and from what i can see there's no sign of leaking. surely if they are leaking grease then the suspension arms underneath wud have grease on? but they look pristinely clean. one had a new cable tie the other week when i had new pads done
also is it an MOT failure for the exhaust to be blowing even tho the emissions read 0% CO etc?

not sure mate then unless tey got mixed up and it's the ones nearest the gearbox which are leaking..and yeah it will fail if exhaust is blowing
