I've got this far - but theres a cable going into the Air Con switch area that doesn't feel like it has a plug - thats stopping the whole lot coming out.
How it is now:
The Air Con Wire That Won't Budge:
Also - there's two big fat looms going into the middle of it at the back. I can see the connector for one - but not the other one - how does this come out?
And...
The Air Con switch does not simply 'pop' off like the middle switch- there's no hole to put a scew driver into - the switch looks much more embedded into the controls behind it.
I can't remove the fascia without taking the knobs off - how can I do this??
Thanks for any help.
Rich

Mo's Guide in the tutorials section is an absolute bible for this.
I'm now faced with removing the air con knob and the knob on the right hand side. Both don't feel like their gonns come off easily - last thing I want to do is break one.
I have to get the front off today.
Can anyone offer any better advice on how to remove the air con switch?

Well the centre knob comes off by pushing a tab with a small screw driver from the small gap at the end underneath. The right knob comes off by pulling it off. If the air con one doesn't have a gap like the centre one, then its probably like the right one, so give it a pull.
The big plug in the middle of the back can be unclipped by pressing the tabs around it.
You can remove the vent section at the top first by removing two gold torx screws underneath on the other side, and unclipping it around the edges. This makes it easier to work on.

Ok Thanks guys - here's an update:
I've removed the top vent duct so that free and sort f out the way!
I have removed the centre knob.
Both me and me dad have pulled both the air con knob and the right-hand-side knob as hard as we can and it won't budge! Now both knobs only go round half way - but thats the least of my worries.
Please note this is a post-97 (1999) Corsa.
Can you prise the knobs off with screwdrivers?
Thanks for all the help so far
(This is a nightmare job lol - lovin' it )

Problem is I can't see how the tightest cable comes off. It goes in under the air con switch but is so tight I can't pull the console out enough to see properly.
The cable doesn't seem like it goes into a plug either.
Off out to have another look now.

you dont wanna take the white bit out.
as far as i can see all you need to do is remove the 3 control knobs as they hold the black part onto the white part, then unclip the tabs.

The hazard light button fell off when the vent came off! I've managed to do it now - pic will be up in a few seconds.
I just had to prise off the air con knob and the other knob with a small screwdriver. Not really marked the fascia up.
the Air con knob looks like I've stressed a bit of plastic on it but it fits back ok so should be alright.
Thanks for your help everyone - just gotta spray it, fit LEDs and put it back now!!

When you put it back, make sure you get the flaps around the side for the vents the right way round, otherwise the vents will just face down.

The vents are still in that block in the middle of the hole! I removed as little as possible. the lights are so much smaller than I thought they would be -- hope the plug and play ones fit in easily - as it looks like these are removed from the front with tweezers!

I hope so! I'ts going to be sprayed BMW Titan Silver as it looks the same as Star Silver but its all Halfords had
I'm leaving the knobs black but toyed with the idea of spraying them Polar Sea Blue but thought masking them effectivley would be too hard and I'd end up messing them up.
I hope it'll look ok with the MFD still black.

I was going to PVS but couldn't find someone else to go with me! In the end I couldn't get anything together in time to get a ticket from Trotty for the stand.
If I could get on the CS Stand I'd love to but at the minute I think my chances are zero.
Centre Console will be done by then too (hopefully!)
