Hi, a friend of mine has just taken delivery of a shiny new throttle body for his ZS 120. He reckons a 20bph increase with this and a pipercross viper. This sounds fairly tasty and I was wondering is such a device is available for my Corsa. Ive got an 04 reg 1.4 corsa with the twinport engine. I was hoping that the variable intake manifold that this engine has wont stop me from fitting one of these, but being a new engine type im finding it difficult to get engine parts. Anyone know who I can speak to about finding one of these items?

so i presume hes bought a repleacement item with a single butterfly? I think 15bhp could be possible. Im not familiar with the MG's engines though. Others might be able to help you out when it comes to bits for your engine, but i expect stuff is very thin on the ground.

Yeh basically it is a 50ml bigger inlet on the replacement body. The old body came off and the new one clamped straight on. My 1.4 has only got 90bhp standard spec, so obviously im looking for ways of getting that a bit higher with out spending that much!! (I bought it brand new two months ago, so funding is a bit low at the moment!!)

the new throttle body single one, will cost about 200ish from regal, if you want big power then a new inlet manifold or throttle bosies, more than one, are the way to go

Regal do, do a enlarged TB for the 1.4/1.6, but it's more than likely it will loose you midrange torque by reducing airspeed. If you want more power then just get a torque tube type thing for the inlet.
P.S 20BHP from a TB and air filter means either the engine is very resitricted by the TB from factory (not so likely) or he's quoting max power figures.

if you have a 1.4, could you not fit a 1.6 TB if they are any bigger?

90% sure they are the same, or at least they were for the old X16XE and X14XE.

The throttle body is restrictive on the MG where as the inlet manifols are restricted on vaux's.
Just the different way manufacture's do things.
Using an enlarged throttle body on a Vaux won't give much power like changing the inlet on an MG also won't give much power(dont quote me on that though).
