propably idle valve/motor. or throttle position switch.
if its idle valve get it cleaned and get a filter in breather pipe, so the oil fumes dont make it messy again, that sorted it in my one...

its not very easy because of the position of idlevalve.the cleaning it self is easy but takin it off is bit difficult, cos there in gsi isnt not much room to work. very typical in all vaux engines.

could someone show idlevalves position in picture??

Also just to let u kno wat i was advised to do when i asked cs...

If u got a 1.4 or 1.6 like me i was told that the idle stepper motor is on the throttle body if u wanna try cleanin it out, if that dont work try throttle position sensor also on throttle body. If engine management light is coming on read the code to be sure.

Hope this helps

greasemonkey, thats weird??? i mean really. cos mine dont flash a light when it starts. did you change it by your self, was it difficult one?
mc stevie, that could be the tp sensor. you mean when you put foot down it doesnt move and then all of a sudden it goes? mine does that and, i asked about it and thats typical for the tp sensor.

Yeah do all the work to my engine myself, fitted the power box too, good thing with the power box is when a sensor on the throttle body goes its right in front of ya and not hidden out the way makes it a 2 minute job

yeah thats what i thought greasemonkey. on standard engine*c16xe* throttle body is in such a place...

waiting till my mantzel pacage arrives and ill have a look at the situation then.

hopefully it will sort all major problems such as missing power and poor idling!!
