Ive got a K&N bolt on air filter for my 1.4 corsa and love the sound it makes. My concern has been that it is sucking in loads of hot air from the engine as thinks warm up. Ive thought of possible solutions from this and wonder what people think of my chosen method. Ive put the standard air box lid back on the box with the k&n attached to the inside of the lid (on the pipe that feeds up to the airflow meter) so the k&n is inside the sealed airbox in-place of the standard filter. Obviously im not getting the same sort of sound that I was getting, but I can live with that. Any views on whether this is a good idea, or if there are any drawbacks from what I have done?

Creating any kind of case for your k&n will definatly help, my only question is why not just buy a k&n panel filter and drill the box?? Also if you can fit a decent cold air feed this would be a bonus
