my 2.0 runs a little fast , the engine management light came on so i plugged it in to my machine and got code 094 phase sensor high voltage.
can anyone shed anylight on what or where this is cos ive never heard of it

94 is the hall effect switch which is on the dizzy. as for running fast could be idle control valve or an air leak somewhere

what happens to the enigne when the hall effect switch gets tired? the only problem is running fast

hall effect dont do much actually mate. ive driven cars with them broke. i think u can buy just the switch from vauxhalls. if u cant new dizzy. bout 30 quid second hand

it runs fine just idles bout 1200 - 1300 rpm

if theres a leak somewhere more air will get in and cause to run faster. check vacums eyc. maybe take icv off and clean aswell

does it get warm?
it'll idle high if it thinks it's on choke all the time. check coolant temp sensor.

checked that mate cheers, ive had throttle body off before i fitted it maybe i split gasket, will try that.

its normally the other way round with the icv, but alot of the time they can make it run fast to.

stiff idle control valve try cleaning it ! they get loads of shit in them especially on high mile engines.........

it ran at 4 when i firdst put it in so changed icv, it made it loads better but ill clean it anyway

Where is the ICV exactly on the xe and is it easy to come off/put back on??

it is behind the engine under the inlet manifold has one rubber hose in front and one on side witrh a plug on the back of it
