I can tell a difference.

I used a local total garage for three fill ups and the performance was poor, although it was smoother.

5p a litre more it may be, but I'm back to pulling out better and getting up to speed as I was before atleast, and it's only my first tankful

I run 98 Ron fuel rather than the 95 Ron witchpiss . At the end of the day 5p a litre more is only £2 more on a £30 tank full. I waste more than that on jazz mags and tissues.

actually gave me better fuel economy... was getting nearer to 160 miles from a full tank instead of the usual 150

also sorted out a few flat-spots.

mixed it with a full bottle of octane-booster once... never again

tesco is cheaper yes, but as i only do 100 miles a week its not too much of an issue.
tesco diesel made it run slow, lumpy and smoke.

shouldnt make much difference, the octane rating is only the amount of compression the fuel can take before self combusting (pinking or knocking)

I always buy Premium Unleaded, like Optimax, and others. I bought standard once after using Optimax and I thought I could tell the difference.

If you go to www.shell.com you can read stuff about it, the forums and FAQ being the best place I guess.
