O.K this is a little bit off an S.A but stick with it;
right had my EGR Valve replaced 2 weeks ago as my engine management light was constantly on, so had it plugged in and tht was what thrown up as the fault. my car had been running totally shit so i thought this would be the cause of the problem....... £245.00 later it aint
my car now when u fire it up neva seems to idle right either to high or too low or just almost stalls until it rescues itself and then settles down - then when u try and drive and bring clutch up, the revs completely die drops to like 200rpm and almost stalls have to put clutch bak in then boot it just to get it to move off. car usually fine when driving it but obviously when come to stop and drive off it happens again - but occasionally when driving through the gears especially second and third revs will drop again and will feel like cars gonna dig into the ground as tho breaking really hard - apart from bein annoying its a bit dangerous especially wiv cars behind.
just wondered if anyone had any ideas what it could be????? any help wud be really appreciated as its get realli bad and doin me head in.
sorry about the S.A people but better to explain it properly

its the idle control valve, its normally bolted to the throttle body, its a valve that lets small amounts or air into the engine at idle to keep it ticking over
Oh and the throttle body is where the accelerator cable goes, you push the accelerator down and it opens the butterfly insode the throttle body, so if ya need to find it follow the accelerator cable

As said above , probably idle control valve, but check the fuel pump and also the fuel filter as well.
