Get it done by pro mate. I had more trouble than enough with a set i done. paint peeled ect. even with proper primers

well..
firstly you need to get the old coat off..
im thinking fine sandblasting.
ither than that hard work with sand paper...
they get it primed up then sand down with Wet n Dry to get out any runs.
then paint colour ontop..
give it 2 coats.
im gunna try it this way and if its unsucessfull im getting it done by a pro.
What i hope it will look like is this

I'd get it done by a pro - either some kind of enammelers or powder coaters. The paint on wheels takes a hell of a battering - road salt/brake dust/ heat from brakes if your a nutter etc...

at £50 a wheel it can get quite expensive

dint take old paint off.....(i did some others about a year ago n did the same with good results so dnt botther to tak paint off.)
step 1: use wire wool to roughen up surface and remove ne scuffs or old flaky paint etc. then use a fine wire wool to give a smoother finish. then wet n dry finest grade possible.
step 2: tack cloth alloy to remove dust etc, then apply a mist coat of primer.
5 min later apply a full coat of primer. let dry. 15 min later apply another coat of primer. (i added a third coat but not sure if needed.)
step 3: i left primer for 2 hours. then wet n dry (used wet) to remove ne imperfections. then dry and tack cloth. then apply mist coat of paint. then after 20 mins apply full coat of paint, then leave for 20 min and apply another...(again i added a 3rd but unsure if actually needed)
step4: i left paint 24hrs to dry.....then again used wet n dry wet) to give smooth finish, then tack cloth.....then coat or primer, leave 30 min, another coat and leave for a couple of days for laquer to dry.
what i used...
wet n dry
steel wool....meduim and fine
halfords white primer
halfords white vaux glacier white
halfords universal laquer.
tack cloths from B & Q

im not sayin this way is the best way to do it but just stating the way i did it, and i acheived exellent results

chris dont do it if its a crappy day tho coz ya will get all dust blowing on them and sticking to the paint and if it aint warm can take ages to dry I reckon!! Worth waiting for a sunny day imo
