I'm looking to get an Astra convertible, and i was wondering........
If i fit a sub in the boot will i hear it at all? The boot is like a seperate part on a car like that and the hood is also stored between the seats and the boot....
If there isn't any point getting a sub what would be the best way of getting a nice loud system? with really good components that have been amped?

Get a set of Focal KF components and a amp, then put some 6" JL subs in the rear cards, it would sound good id imagine, but no ICE will sound great when moving with the top down.

There's a ski hatch with access to the boot from the rear seats. Although the hood compartment takes up a bit of boot space its not much worse off accoustically than a coupe.
Plus it doesn't matter how it sounds - the roof is off

I think i'm going to start off with my Vibe sub in the boot and see how it sounds, if its crap i'll get some better ICE

if you've got a ski hatch you could build a v shaped box and fire 2x 8"'s into the cabin... should give you a good level of bass into the cabin

ive put a sub in a new astra convertible at work, sounded fine, was one of those vibe jobbys
some nice quality componants would be nice aswell though
