I had a problem in November where the engine management light came on all the time and started cutting out when you slowed right down. I got the idle air control valve and egr valve replaced (or so they said) anyway it's happening again. Do you think this is the same thing and do you think that is was new parts that I paid for put in? Surely they wouldn't need replaced again after 8-9 months. Is there anything else it could be?

it could be that the hydrolic tappets are wearing out as this happened on my gsi with the light on and off

when you press on the accelerator it goes away but as soon as you try and go in second gear the battery light comes on and it cuts out.
