very disapointed from the second i started up the car
corsa B gsi with induction kit, my mate just made me a custom straight-thru all the way from the down pipe to my scorpion backbox for £150!
he said it will be a good job but it had weilds all over it!!!
bracket on the downpipe was loose so had a leak! which made it sound utter shite! he said he will fix the leak for me next week???
sooo much rasp when i floor it! JUST like a rally car, i wanted it to be really DEEP-RUMBLY not a high pitched rasp!
felt like crying on the way home i thought i had a bargain for £150! but looks like i just wasted it instead!
i really dont know what to do??
shall i put my old one back on??
or take it back and see how it sounds after the leak is sorted??

i thought i wudnt mind the rasp, but it really is un-bearable, maybe its just me, or maybe it is really that bad! its worst exhaust ive ever heard!
i just wanted it louder, DEEPER and RUMBLY, but all i got is a a high pitched rasp when i floor it

I have a straight through centre section with a Sebring backbox, it does rasp when cold but when its warm its loverly and deep, i still have my CAT tho.
If i was you i'd either put your cat back in, or your centre silencer and see how it is.

it was made as one whole long peice!
so i cant really add the silencer or cat to it!
its been messed up once, i dont want him to mess up the cat and silencer too!

This is the problem if you deal with "mates", you don't really have much of a comeback.
At the end of the day, you always get what you pay for too

I have a 2L with two hoooooge silencers and a side exit still raspy when you go for it, tis because of the tubular steel manifolds, all C20XE's sound a bit like this

Get a small centre silencer fitted, that should cure most of the rasp but still leave it loud.

Its the way corsaas r, both my straight thru exhausts are VERY raspy theres now t u can do.
If you want a straight thru live with it, if not fit a silencer, its as simple as that.

Mate i have just had a full stainless powerflow exhaust system put on and its from the cat back over. some of the rasp may be down to the type of back box you have but as said before once warmed up the rasp tends to die down almost compleately

i just fitted my old cat-back scorpion exhaust back on
sooo much better! nice deep and rumbly, but not that loud
the rasp was sooo bad on the straight thru! like a Moped on nitro
i was really surprised what a difference taking out the middle silencer makes, but i guess it also depends on other things e.g. amount of weilds on pipes, backbox size and position, stainless steel, cat silencer removal etc
so if i put in a smaller silencer will that KEEP it deep like it is now but Louder?? with NO RASP/POPPING??

£150 for less than 2 metres of pipe isn't cheap.
Powerflow or somewhere would have done that with no boxes for that much, if not less.
What did he make it out of? Preformed bends or does he have a bending machine? What size bore?

he said it was stainless steel!!
no proper bends! it was little sections weilded together to get it to curve were needed!
it was a standard 2inch bore size
i thought it was a good price! which is why i didnt bother trying other places first!

jesus :/ some mate if he's bodged it that bad, welding for the curves ? thats pretty unnecessary :/ seriously take it back to him and ask for your money back or get him to redo it *properly*
Do you care as much as he does ?

Nothing wrong with using preformed bents if they are welded properly, at least they wont be pressure bent like they would have been if you had gone to powerflow.
