hi
after having trouble starting my valver its started now due to a new ecu.
but now it has about 50bhp
apparently the lambda sensor is missing from the manifold, could this cause such a problem??
apparently its overfuelling cos it now back fires.
has anyone got an idea of what it could be?
please!!!

If you're missing a lambda sensor... have one fitted.
Mine's without too - runs a little rich, pops and stuff too.

Bosch ones are about £30 or so. Get a Bosch dealer to give you the same one Vauxhall supply.
You'll need to drill somewhere in the manifold to take the sensor too.
Having 50hp sounds a bit weird tho - mine pulls well and must be running about 300bhp at the moment - it even destroys gearboxes!

ive done the same, swaped manifold as the new one had a lambda sensor. runs perfect apart from popping and banging a bit when its cold. The neighbours really like it so im reluctant to sort it

You can ground one of the pins on the ECU to tell the engine to ignore it so you can get away without one.

Does this just turn off the fault code or does it actually let the ECU sort out the air/fuel ratio without messing with an o2 sensor??

finally got the car!!
its running crap. but i wanted it back so its to be expected!
the problem is that when you try and accelerate fully it struggles and just keeps popping/banging like its over fuelling and the revs just stay at the same place.
could it be the distributor pack?
the reason i think this is because it has cracks on the top and its been sta in sum1s garden 4 a few months b4 so it might be wet inside??
any more thoughts wud be great
thanks

thanks dan (j100rsa) i have just been to vauxhall and had it on the diagnostics (for free!!) and the fault code was sayin that.
the car just splutters when you try to accelerate more than a tiny bit

could be lack of power to the coil that is causing this as well..
just something else to try..

i have just been and unplugged the afm and the car is no different!!
i suspect that this may be one of the main probs.

as you can see im a bit of a novice!

i had this problem when i converted my first corsa to a 2.0 i found out it was the hall sensor plugs in at the top dis,i was gonna replace it at a cost of 170 quid but i noticed it was lose held it down with a rubber band(lol) and sprayed electrical terminal cleaner in there and the problem was solved
