there are hundreds of posts on here about the 2ltr 16v conversion.
essentially the same block, so same box and drive train options apply.
wiring will probably be slightly different, but following the same principles.
the search function near the top is very usefull.
out of interest, why you want to go from a 1.6 16v to a 2.0 8v?
the 8v isn't vastly more powerfull than the 1.6. more torque, for sure, but then it's extra weight that you're carryoing about too.
for the amount you spend on the conversion parts, you could make the 1.6 engine lots quicker than the 8v.

exactly the same as the 16v conversion but no need for a powercap so slightly cheeper if you were to buy fitting kit from cossvaux ect.
8v block are REALLY good egines, in terms of reliability they are better engines than the 16v. and if it does go wrong the parts are cheeper.

And there's 8 valves less to bend in the 8v

agree the 8v is a decent enough lump, especially the high compression one (130bhp?)
more reliable? not if its been ragged about all its life. Ive had 2 16v engines, the first i got off some southern fairy who haddent looked after it at all, i dident even know the mileage My second one hasent missed a beat since it went in, 85k, full service history
