The short shift doesn't make you accelerate faster, it makes your gearchange quicker, but you'll spend more time trying to find your gears than changing into them.

yea iv got a short shift gearlever, i find it harder to put into gear, it work better standard

to narrow this down..... is there one available for an f15 gearbox...

yeah, my gearchange needs tightening somehow though, when i'm in gear, i can still move the gearlever from side to side about 2 inches

i was in a mates 2.0 corsa over the christmass and with the cutting and welding that needs doin to the linkage its seem nice and short between gears.....
i want...
bugger my linkage is plastic...

i only have an X14XE, and te linkage is metal
the cage around the base of the lever is plastic, but the linkage itself on the gearbox is metal

yeh your right i though it was the plastic piece that would need to be changed to make it short shift but no it the metal piece...
anyways.....

get an m-tech one, then you can be like me and not be able to select gears when you need to!

mine doesnt like going into first when coming to a stop at a junction, you have to be dead still, and ram it in

I took the internals from the main pivot out, through them away and had some poly bushes made up while trying to get the linkage working. This takes out the play of the old rubber/foam efforts and makes for precise short changes.

Nope, linkage was already out, cost about £20 to have the bushes made up and meant the linkage didn't have to be cut and welded. How much is an M-Tech kit?
