Any1 know if its an mot failure 2 have smoothed doors with solenoids.
i went 4 an mot yesterday and the book says "THE DOORS ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE MUST BE ABLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE."
I hav solenoids off my clifford 2 open the doors but the stupid s.o.b failed me cuz they couldnt be opened from the outside if i was in a crash.
Even if i had handles and woz in a crash the clifford has an "anti-theft" system which locks the doors as soon as i turn the ignition.
he said hes gonna hav 2 fone the m.o.t.
any1 had this trouble?

you definately need to have a way of getting in from the outside for both doors ... most people have a button under the wing mirrors to pop the door. it's ok to have these and use your clifford.
the people who smoothed the doors should have known this when they did it.

its quite dangerous,
u'd be screwed if you were in a crash.
u should a button under the wing mirror.
you need to be able to manually open the door from outside.

Opening from the outside can include if u go to MOT station with windows down and they can reach inside and open it using normal interior handle...
My Corsa C passes this way +checked with department of transport etc before doing it...
Edit: Interestingly enough a car doesnt even have to have working doors to be road legal provided they are welded up etc...
