Hey.
When I've been driving a pretty fast speeds (ie not town driving), the front left of my car starts to squeek quite loud.

I thought it must be some shite stuck in the wheel somewhere, but I dont have a jack at the moment so I cant get the wheel off to look around.

If I pump the brakes abit the squeeeking temporarily stops, does this mean that its almost definately something to do with the wheel or could the problem be under the bonnet somewhere?

When I get my JAck back, what should I look out for that could cause the squeeking?

Cheers

well brake pads start squeaking when it's time to change them. When the pad get's worn enough a small metal clip pokes through and it's this you can hear.

It's good to change both sets of pads at the same time. Cost about £20 odd from Vauxhall for standard pads. IMO these are the best ones to go for as they're efficient enough and cause minimal brake dust.

and if the pads are worn down to the metal ya might be looking at new discs if there scored badly.

If its just the pads, are they easy to change myself?

I took the front wheels off and the pads look alright at each side.

I banged a load of crap out of em' and now when I drive, I notice it only squeeks when I put my foot down on the accelerator.

So Im guessing its under the bonnet now
