Im looking at putting a 1.6 8v nova engine into my 1.2 corsa and need advice.

How simple is this and also what are the problems people find when doing this conversion?

Are these all the parts need for a successful conversion.
- Nova GSi/GTE engine
- Nova ECU and Loom
- Corsa or Nova gearbox
- Corsa driveshafts (would ones atm be ok?)
- Corsa MPI fuel pump
- Corsa 1.4 8V SRI down pipe
- Water hoses

Any more parts need would be greatful?

Also steps would be good?

Any help would be great,

Cheers

Mark

P.S Anyone selling a nova GSI/GTE

You can use your current gearbox but is'nt a 1.2 8v an F10? If so use the Nova gearbox and put your driveshafts in. Nova shafts are slightly shorter.

Corsa SRi downpipe indeed mated to Nova GSi manifold and Corsa system.

Corsa S-type rad hose and everything else you have mentioned, I don't understand why more people don't do this conversion as its easy, cheaper.

use nova gte down pipe its a twin pipe ul need to mod the nove harness quite alot unless u get a late 91 gsi engine with the later injection then u can use a corsa 1.4sri loom and nova gsi ecu id use an f15 box as its stronger youll want corsa gsi/ 1.6sport drive shafts as these are a bit bigger but surely would be far far better putting it on twin 40's

To save time and effort just use your current shafts, I'm running 1.4 SR shafts on my X16XE and they are fine.

cheers joff.
Also, the F10 would be completely crap, 5th is far too long to be of any use.

i have 1.28v shafts with my c16xe running nearly 130BHP no problems at all..... all corsa driveshafts are the same... use an f13cr box to get the most out of that engine... will be a pain on the motorwway though...

Siberia, there is hardly any difference between the F13CR and F15 anyway, except slight changes to 2nd and 3rd and a different final drive

My car tops out at 119mph with the F13, it really struggles to go over 110mph

F10 is'nt that 4 speed? There are two types of F13's the F13 and the F13CR which has closer ratios.

I stand corrected then

F10 4spd was found only in Corsa Merits, and was taken straight from the Nova, the 5spd is essentially the same gearbox with 5th as an overdrive gear to help the engine at high speed cruising.

Lee Mitchell will only be to happy to get rid of the masses of Corsa driveshafts he has in his garage from when people fail to take them away after conversions

I think he still has the Corsa shafts from my conversion out of the X16XE
