ok, just to prove how little I know bout corsa engines... What sits under the airbox that could (in this case, is.) leak oil? Any suggestions appreciated! ta!

where have you seen the oil?
there's just the arch liner under the box i think.
below that it could come from a leaking shock absorber, or even worse be brake fluid?
there's a carbon canister in the wing, but that can't leak, and has nothing to do with oil.

i had the same prob, i found out i sprayed too much filteroil on my K&N wich was dripping out
maybe the oilcap doesnt close verry well and spils oil around.
or it's the carter-returnpipe that's leaking..
is your brake fluid still up to it's normal level?
and how are the brakes responding to the pedal?

so to the garage we went, well me da went and i got his car for the day... after much hmming and harring, the young lad got the owner to have a poke round... apparently they think the dizi gasket and sump gasket are on the way out as oils only going everywhere when the engine loses pressure. However I've got to drive around for a bit (i.e. another newcastle to preston run) and keep an eye on the oil level, then they'll sort it when I'm back - mystery solved, hopefully.
oh and the garage wont rip me off... me da's company is becoming one of his biggest customers, pays to keep me sweet
