its not matted resin at all - people make me laugh when the refer to P40 as fibreglass; its pink come in a can
You get a tub of chopped strands of glass mixed in resing which is to thick to be useful and a PBO hardener agent which is pink - no one ever mixes the correct amoutns and you end up with extremely heavy, very pink, very weak substitute for real fibreglass mat
even the most basic of fibreglass laminates , a chop strand matt panel will have better inherent properties than P40!!!
P40 is a bridging agent and should only be used to fill gaps which are too large to be filled with P38 or UPol

Right, the glass is matted, due to the resin which is mixed into it. Therefor its matted much like if you was to roll jam over a dog, you would have matted jam, matted with hair

its not matted -matted in this sense refers to a "matt" of glass - P40 is not a matt and hence not "matted" - a matt is either woven or held together with a binding agent - the chinese dodgy stuff uses either incredibly watered down PVA glue or French chalk and water ( talcum powder)
we use a powder base to bind the matt together which disappears as a styrene gas when the catalyst causes the resin to release its inhibitors and hence begi the curing process
P40 is not matted - its is simply strands of glass mixed with incredibly cheap crap resin and is only for use bridging gaps which are bigger than P38 would be useful for
