me and a mate are both running c16xe's in our corsa's (109bhp version) we had them on the rolling road on saturday down ap motors in plymouth.
... what do you guys think?
here is our spec so let us knwo what u think
were both running c16xe's he's got a
mantzel power box
scorpion gp A 2.5" system
de-cat
schrick fast road cams (256degree)
lightened and balanced flywheel
10mm race leads
viper style induction kit
gauze removed from air-flow meter
the dyno readout was
145.8bhp & 6300rpm-ish
130 lb torque
mine's:
mantzel style custom fabricated inlet manifold
custom 2" system with motorbike race can (still have cat fitted)
lightened flywheel
piper fast road cams (270degree)
viper style induction kit
gauze removed from air-flow meter
it was smoking excesivly due to valve stem seals gone
the dyno readout was
138.6bhp & 6300rpm-ish
125 lb torque
both cars are running standard managment un-mapped. both our cars are awaiting for our ported and polished heads to be finished. they'll be fitted with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. next thing on the list befor anything else that were thinking about is changing to Megasquirt managment.. has nybody used it running wasted spark (dis) was it easy what are your comments about the system. ifs there's anyone on here that reads this that has a higher spec 1600 16v can you list your spec and bhp (anyone with a 16xe) and if theres anything that you would recomend for ours.
cheers chris

Looks good, i would say go ahead with the megasquirt, it would allow you to make the most of the setup you guys have, the numbers look good ... keep it up...maybe with some throttle bodies you'll see a greater increase in power

not only are the tourqe figures a bit dubious, these engines would not make 145 bhp at 6300 rpm! all the mods on those engines are designed to push the bhp up the rev range. maybe would make these figures at around 7300 rpm, but not without management

yep its on mig aswell, havent decided wether to go to motorbike throttle bodies or i'm thinking along the lines of a mini cooper s supercharger, all the fabrication is not a problem just trying to get my head round the easiest way of doing this, will be running megasquirt soon hopefully. if you have had your's on ethe dyno pleas epost up your printout... cheers chris
