This is on a corsa B, P reg.
On the odd accasion the main beam light comes on very dim and the engine cuts out. It sometimes will then restart.
Sometimes if you have it running and then turn the lights on it will also die slowly, however ive found out if you turn the lights off it will pick up.
Also i think without any lights on the main beam light has come on dimely and pressing the hazzard lights they just go on and stay on..
Any ideas what the problem could be.

ive heard of the diodes in the alternator causing some weird faults when they go faulty.

what makes you think its the alternator or the battery?
The car runs fine sometimes and then it can just cut out.
For instance i drove it 3hrs down the m1 and it decided to cut out going up a hill in a village, no lights on or anything. THen refused to start for ages, then it just went.
Im not sure how the battery would effect it? Or really how the alternator would effect that.
