You could get an overpriced carbon fibre shrouded induction kit with a designer logo on it which does absolutely bugger all.

What sort of power gains would i expect from a remap compared to a 4-2-1

What use is a 4-1 with a standard rev limit and a standard inlet?

You need a remap and engine mods, one or the other is no use on an N/A engine. The only reason why you get good gains from re-maps on TD engines is because you can simply up the boost and fueling to a higer level.

Std rev limit, why is he going to need that changed, there no power up past the rev limit around 6500 on a nearly std engine, none worth holding out in the gear for as it would be better to shift up at this point to get back to your peak and useable power in mid range.
Even with a remap it still won't need to move the limiter up. You would be safest with a 4 branch and a descent exhaust system for £400, and you don't need a remap for a 4 branch alone, as your mixture would'nt need to be changed as a 4 branch is letting exhaust fumes away faster, and helping the sound waves to draw out exhaust gases more efficently and faster. You def won't need a remap for a 4 branch. As well, if you went for the 4-2-1 you will find that your peak power and torque will be moved further down the rev range where it can be made better use off
A remap would be required for other mods though, but not for this one in particular.

new inlet. should see 15 bhp without any other mods.

exhaust and 4 branch will get you next to nothing, maybe 3 bhp if you are lucky. re-map is pointless without at least an inlet.

will move the power futher up the rev range. the standard manifold isnt that restrictive on the x16xe at lower revs, its at the higher revs when its under more pressure that the manifold and exhaust become more of a restriction.

Read what I said fool. I was saying that a 4-1 manifold is a stupid idea with a standard rev limit and inlet manifold. There is obviously a hell of a lot more to exhaust manifold design than you know. There is also power past 6500, look at this:

yes power past 6500 on a 190 bhp engine on your graph not a STD one This is a std engine, where a 4 branch will make a difference where it does'nt have to be at high revs. Go do a peak power test on a std 1.6 engine, as you should know there is a BIG difference on a power curve on a 190 bhp engine and a std sport "fool" Plus this engine has std cams so the rev range power is still in mid range not on high
Why do you take offence so easy when someone is giving an opinion on a public forum, your not the only person who thinks that knows all about engine tuning. As a matter of fact i do know about 4 branch manifolds, i was'nt saying that it simply get rid of gases faster, if you read my post i did mention about the sound waves creating a vacum thru tuning to help the engine work faster and efficently, its not just a case of individual branches but there is alot of tuning with sound tones and waves when designing a 4 branch.

Save another £200 and then get a Mantzel.

That's what i would do. Give you more power increase than an exhaust or cams.

Don't be so stupid, 4-1 bhp accerlation, but i would recommend a 4-2-1 for mid range torque. Its just a tit for tat game with you is'nt it.

Anything you do on the X16XE apart from throttle bodies or carbs is pretty pointless without doing the inlet IMO.

The difference is unreal.
