right fuse
the amp takes two 30 amp fuses
and ive used a 30 amp fuse in the power cable, would it need to be bigger?
checked the earth seems, ok...
one day it just went off, wasnt canin it and only had gains at half way.
but tried it agen 2day after a while and ye it blows about 2 seconds after turning the head unit on.
amp is a PG sx4600 running 2 subs. bridged to run both subs. 1 from front 2 channels, one from rear 2.

yu need bigger, if your amp takes 2x 30amp fuses then your power cable will need at least a 60amp fuse. Get one slightly bigger maybe 70amps

If the fuse blows straight away when the amp turns on and you have tried all of the above, you may have a faulty amp, or worse the power cable may be damaged and earthing itself on the car. Take it out and check for any splits or bare metal.

Sextons are upgradin the fuse holder for a 60amp one, shall I ask them to replace the power cable aswell? that might be a good idea, lol if that still doesnt sort it though

mine used to do it all the time, i got right pisd with it and then just ripped it all out the speakers and head unit and cabling, it turned out to be,
where the power went into the boot the plastic cover had split around the wiring, so i replaced it all and SORTED

iv got pix in my gallery of my wiring might have one of the dodgy power lead so you can see what i mean...

if you have told them the full story of it worked fine for ages and all of a sudden it just done this, and all they are going is changing the fuse holder I personally wouldnt let them work on my car.....
(also power cables that have a 30A fuse connector probably wont handle 60amps of power, putting the 60a fuse in will run but the cable will probably overheat and catch fire before the fuse pops)

you need to check/replace the power and earth cables, it wouldnt hurt to check the others whilst you are at it.

na mate you need to increase the size of fuse that goes from the battery to the amp. this is due to a surge of current. cant be assed explaining it but we learnt it in college.

like couple other people said you need a 60a fuse which should be only about 13" from the battery side max.
