oh and faulty CTS can cause over fueling aswell

If you look on mig you should be able to dig up all the voltage / resistance figures to test the AFM co adjustment and prob CTS aswell

When you adjusted the screw to an extreme amount ie. fully in or fully out did you get an ecu light?

NO

On the early xe the CO adjustment screw is used to set the mixture across the rev range as there is no lambda. As i said it has to be set to specific values which can be done either using a millimetre of a CO tester.

if winding the screw right in / out has no affect on idle and doesn’t give EML I would try a different AFM

I would also look into CTS as well though, but usually if the CTS is to blame it will be over fuelling terribly and run very poorly

you should get code 65/66 If you run to rich or to lean on the AFM, but the fact that idle changed would suggest that it is working to some extent.
