My old man needs an email account that can be set up in outlook. Doesnt have one with the ISP as it was broadband only.
Any reccomendations? Its for business use so something faiirly professional looking would be good. Dont know why his work cant supply him with one but they said they can only fwd a work one onto him and not allow him to send from it.

Tell his work to sort it out, anything else looks very amateur.

Are you saying they will allow him POP3 access but no SMTP access (ie. can receive email but not send)?

Sounds like you need an SMTP relay to send the branded mail, yes.

They said that they wont give out any of the pop3 details and that they will only forward on his work email to one that he has set up.
The IT dept sounds like a joke to be honest. Its a hige company too

He must have this on the work computer, look in the account setup on that?
The biggest problem with be getting mail to leave the computer at home without having an outgoing SMTP server. You can buy this just like you can buy webspace, or of course you could upgrade your bb package.
Or of course this company could do it. Is it essential that you dad does work at home with that kind of response from IT support - he should say fine don't worry about it!

Deb, the people that do all the soap and hand stuff.
Ian, he doesnt have a works computer, its mine. He needs to complete his monthly reports etc and email them to the head office. This of course is no problem sending from a private email account.
Recently however, he has been told that as much ordering should be done via email as its quicker and cheaper. So he was told to tell his customers to email the orders to him who could then make sure they were correct and then email to h/o.
