probably slow according to how full up your local exchange is, also whats the contetion ratio?

Local exchange is fine as my mates AOL is fine and the BT connection at my parents is fine which is litrally next door lol. Exchange is at the back of our houses too so we are on 8MB.

hmm yes but if your isp is coming to a limit to the connections they have bought then it will be running slow. You will probably find in the next few weeks it will be fast again - due to them buying more bandwidth.

I always thought the bandwidth was shared thought different ISPs ?

I thought it was that they bought the bandwidth from BT(usually) and that was seperate to the other isp's but you maybe right.
Anyway they might be at the limit of what they bought so thats why it maybe slowing down.
