ive notice recently that the sound from my setup isnt quite right. certain songs emphise it more then others anything with ssss really notices as these stand out alot more then the rest. (i hope that made sense

)

what kind of settings do i need to fiddle with to solve this as ive had a fiddle with the treble and that but to no avail

Depending on what settings your CD player offers you should be able to turn down the treble as you said, or with some CD players you should be able to change the maximum frequency. If you can do this, then turn the maximum frequency down a touch

its a JVC where you can adjust treble and bass to plus and minus figures. Il have a bit more of a fiddle.

Anything on the amp i can adjust? Although this only drives the sub so i cant see this been the problem really.

Your best bet is to start with the bass and trebble controls at 0. Then try to listen to a track you know well, maybe one you play on a good hi-fi system. You'll soon identify what is missing/over present. To me it sounds like you could be getting high-end distortion, so make sure the trebble is set level.

Bear in mind that you should try a shop brough CD if you can since the MP3 CDs are of lower quality and can cause distortion.
